Under bokningsdagen så öppnar bokningen för olika simskolenivåer vid olika tider, vi lägger alltid ut ett schema för detta i god tid innan bokningen öppnar.

En period av simskolan pågår i 12 lektioner, 1 lektion/vecka.

Vi tar uppehåll under skolloven, exakta datum för uppehållen mailar vi alltid ut om i god tid innan.

More info about the swimming school
The swimming school is run in Sundbybergs swimming hall and Vasalundshallen and is certified by the Swedish Swimming Association and follows their "Swimming line". Our swimming school is for children aged 5 and up. Swimming skills are a vital knowledge that must be learned through joy. We therefore start by teaching the children to be safe, comfortable and fearless in the water on their own without having their parents in the water. As much as possible of the lessons are conducted without buoyancy aids to achieve this, as buoyancy aids can easily provide a false sense of security. Water habits are the basis for good swimming skills and swimming technique. It is therefore very important not to force the water habit training. When we have then built up that foundation in the children, we start with swimming lessons. We then teach crawl as the first way of swimming.
Kicking with the legs and rotating with the arms is a relatively easy motor movement to perform for young children. What can be difficult for the children is the breathing, which should be done sideways, when they swim longer distances. When the children swim 5 m crawl, we also teach them to swim backstroke. Backstroke is similar to crawling with the same motor movements, but provides free airways. When the children swim 10 m backstroke, we teach breaststroke. Then the children have learned two different ways of swimming, which gives them knowledge of body control and water position, which facilitates the learning of the third way of swimming. In addition, the children have grown older and their motor skills have improved. The children also try the fourth swimming method butterfly swimming through various easy exercises in all swimming school levels. Through all groups, all goals must be completed without goggles, read more about which rules apply more precisely below.
In order for the children to gain insight into safety around water at an early age, they also test life jackets, swimwear, throw life buoys and extend their arms. We also go through swimming, boating and ice sweat rules.
what we think about wearing goggles
In our team we have some rules about the use of swimming goggles.
All goals in all groups must be achieved without swimming goggles.
The reason why we want the children to be able to get in the water without swimming goggles if it is so that an accident would occur, then they should be able to get to the surface and start swimming and blink with their eyes to get the water out so that they can save themselves.
Below is what is allowed in each group.
However, it is the leader in each group who decides how much the glasses will be used.
Mini Sim Beginner and continuation: Swim goggles must not be used here.
Baddaren: Do not use swimming goggles here
Sköldpaddan: Swim goggles must not be used here
Pingvinen: Here you can use swimming goggles on parts of the course, all goals must be completed without swimming goggles
Späckhuggare: Here you can use swimming goggles on parts of the course, all goals must be completed without swimming goggles
Fisken: Here you can use swimming goggles on parts of the course, all goals must be completed without swimming goggles
Krokodilen Step 1: Swim glasses must not be used here
Krokodilen step 2: Here you can use swimming goggles when the instructor assesses your child so confidently in the water that they can handle a situation without swimming goggles, all goals must be completed without swimming goggles
Swimming school 12-15years: Here, sunglasses can be used when the instructor assesses your child so confidently in the water that they can handle a situation without swimming goggles, all goals must be completed without swimming goggles
If the children have visual impairment and have to use swimming goggles with strength, this is allowed.
